PRIMARY RECRUITMENT
WHAT IS PRIMARY RECRUITMENT?
Primary recruitment, which takes place in the beginning of the spring semester, is the process by which active members of our six NPC member chapters meet potential new members (PNMs) interested in joining the Panhellenic community. PNMs have the opportunity throughout this process to discuss with current members their sororities' values, ideals, and activities.
The primary recruitment period consists of three rounds: Community, Philanthropy, and Preference. In each round, PNMs will talk to fewer chapters as they and the chapters narrow their options. Following Preference Round, a PNM may be extended an invitation to join one of our chapters.
WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN PRIMARY RECRUITMENT?
Any woman-identifying student who is not already an initiated member of an NPC organization is eligible to participate in Panhellenic formal recruitment and join a chapter if she is a regularly matriculated undergraduate student at Stockton. Any undergraduate student enrolled at Stockton University who has been granted full-time status may participate in formal recruitment, though each chapter has its own requirements for membership.
WHAT TO EXPECT DURING PRIMARY RECRUITMENT
During recruitment, you can expect lots of talking and answering questions about what you have been involved with in the past, what you are looking forward to in college, and what you want to get out of your sorority experience. You also will want to ask questions that are important to you to get to know the sororities and find the best fit.
You can expect recruitment to be an time period, with both good moments, but also some disappointing ones. Your options will narrow down during recruitment and sometimes you will receive invitations that you are excited to see or may have moments where you are sad that you did not receive an invitation that you may have wanted or may be disappointed to not receive the same invitation as a friend.
